Antigua's Yepton Estate Cottages

Jan 4, 2009

Recommended by daughter and son in law who had stayed before. Waking up early each morning to see the sun rise with a back drop of palm trees and the sea beyond was magnificent. The local bird wildlife was magnificent and so tame, especially the red bullfinches. These added to the calm, quiet and serenity of the holiday. Along with... more

We booked this cruise on the internet as were in Antigua for the day on boxing day, went for the Lobster Cruise and really enjoyed the full day. We were picked up 2 mins away from the cruise ship dock and taken to 3 lovely islands where we snorkelled, had a brilliant lunch, plenty of beers and sunbathing. Captain Glen... more

We have just returned from a holiday at the hawksbill for xmas and new year. The hotel in itself is lovely and the staff were fantastic, the weather was good however when it rains is it a down poor and not just a few spits. I had read reviews that the hotel only had guests there over the age of... more

My wife and I have been to a few different Sandals including Montego Bay, Dunns River and the Royal Bahamian, and this stay at Grande Antigua was one of the best. We like to stay in the "signature collection" series of Sandals resorts if for no other reason that we know what to expect. When we travel, we like to... more

My husband and I booked a week here between Christmas and New Years 2009. We had been to a number of Sandals before, but never this one - but I think it's the nicest one yet! We looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor and were a bit wary, since some seemed so negative. However, we loved this place. The... more

The Admiral's Inn

Jan 4, 2009

What a Gem the Admirals Inn is. We spent 2 weeks over Christmas 2008 & New Year in Antigua, one week at the Admirals Inn & one on SY Distant Shores. Amarillis made sure that our stay was one to remember, both she and all the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The restaurant served some of the best food... more

We are a couple in our 50's and holidayed here with our son and daughter in law and our 8 year old grandson over Christmas and New Year. We were aware that in Antigua a lot of the accommodation is getting older and a little tired so we were expecting what we got and had warned our son that the... more

As a Sandals return guest I was a little skeptical at first because of the reviews I had read on this site. I have to say my stay at Sandals Antigua was really great and very relaxing. We always travel with close friends and this time we were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary! The staff were so attentive and nice!... more

This was the best excursion on our 7 day cruise in the Carribean. John and Pippa were wonderful, lunch was delicious, the sailing spectacular. We were met at the cruiseship dock and set sail in rather windy weather. We didn't have enough time to sail back against the wind to the dock, so we taxied to St. John to meet... more

After reading many reviews on Tripadvisor, we upgraded our reservation to the Med Village, and Sandals upgraded us again to a higher floor. The Monte Carlo suites, and all suites in the Med Village, have wonderful views and great bathrooms with spa tubs and rain showers. If you have the money, we definitely recommend doing this. If not, you don't... more

READER BE WARNED: This review pertains to Christmas/New Years week, and therefore some items discussed may be exclusive to this time of year. Almost everyone was on the All-Inclusive Plan this week (those who weren’t on it had special dietary needs and wished to have more flexibility in dining), and I think all inclusive is the way to go year... more

After an invitation to Antigua for the holidays I decided to take the plunge. Airfare was really horrifically high & non stops flights were difficult to come by, and with just seven days to go before my trip I was able to find a seat. Now comes the hard part, finding a last minute quality hotel. With the help of... more

This will be the first time I have completed a review, but after reading the reviews on the Galley Bay, I must add my comments. We knew about the mixed reviews but looked forward to Chistmas there. It was better than expected - very friendly staff, clean, large but not luxurious rooms and a fantastic beach. Unpretentious and relaxing with a nice local feel. Overall good value more

Verandah Resort & Spa

This hotel is a timeshare and has a large number of private investors. It is apparently aimed at families with young children but this is not made clear on their website. If you want peace and quiet, this is not the place to go. There are two beaches. The one near reception isn't great and the beach bar was never... more

Just coming back from 2 weeks at the Sandals. Expectations: "World's Most Romantic Resort." and caribbean luxury holidays - we just wanted to relax and didn't want to care about a thing IMPORTANT TO KNOW (and not very clearly communicated): Sandals Antigua consists of two accommodation worlds - 1) Caribbean Grove: old part and clearly caribbean atmosphere, but definitely aged... more

We spent an amazing fortnight at Blue Waters for our Wedding in November and we cannot praise the hotel and its staff highly enough!! We had an upgrade to a deluxe ocean view room, which overall was of a good standard and very clean (the bathroom was slightly dated). The hotel and its grounds were kept immaculately and the food... more

Just what the doctor ordered!! We were looking for the Caribbean experience away from the “commercialism”; hotels that could be anywhere or the industrial strip stores and bars that we could find down the street from our house. We lounged on the beach, played volleyball, read while enjoying a beautiful view of the Caribbean. We did hike up the hill... more
