Nice enough hotel, but definitely needs some refurbishment. Free parking was nice and location near Cathedral Square was great. Room and building are dated. Nice enough stay for a night or two, but look elsewhere for an extended stay. more

This hotel is in a good location as the free circuit bus stops outside and takes you to the city centre in ten minutes. Also across the road from the Town Hall and the Casino. Easy walk to the Arts Centre, Museum etc. Rooms nicely furnished and comfortable beds. Flat screen TV's would be a nice addition. Pleasant staff, courteous... more

The hotel had comfortable rooms, but they were a little old-fashioned with a very small TV. However the staff were very freindly and helpful and the hotel is well-located more

Stayed for 3 nights after travelling around the south island. Our stay was excellent. Staff where very friendly and always happy to help. In particular, the young man at check in desk is a credit to the hotel. I had quite a few requests and he was always eager and obliging. The service matched the room, excellent. I was with... more

This hotel is stated to be 4 star and it delivered that. Room I had was not large, but was adequate and with contemporary furnishings. Very very clean - nothing negative to say - well maybe the mirror in the bathroom could de-mist more quickly if I was being very picky. Enjoyed the restaurant breakfasts - dinner was not great.... more

This hotel has a tiny reception area that is always packed and so it is hard to get help if needed. Car Parking is free for guests you just need to get a ticket. Rooms are quite plain and basic, large but with a pretty small double bed. There is a guest laundry and it is cheap to do your... more

Thank you for filling out the questionaire on Tripadvisor, its great to get comments good or bad, so changes can be made. Most of your comments were directed at the decor and building structure. We went through a 5.5 Million dollar refurbishment in 2003 which has kept very well, we are very different from the Langham Hotel in Auckland which...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after a tour end 2007 & enjoyed the stay very much. Good location across the road from casino & a central park so very quiet from my 6th floor. Only a few minutes walk to Cathedral Square & free bus circuit stops across the road. Room was clean and comfy, with modern bathroom.... more

We had our first two nights here after landing from the UK and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Check-in was smooth and our request for a high floor was honoured. They were extremly helpful at reception. The room was a king, more space than two people needed, with a great view over Christchurch. It was clean and... more

We only stayed here one night but would have liked longer. We had a hire car of which the hotel parked for us at no extra charge. The reception are was nice and staff helpfull. Our room was a nice size, comfortable and nice bathroom all very clean. We had a good view from our window overlooking a park area.... more

My husband and I stayed here earlier this month for a conference. The room was very bland and small and the only view was across to another hotel (that looked a lot nicer). In this beautiful city there are far nicer places to stay. If you want to be near the Casino then the position is good and it is... more
