Spent 2 nights here in November 08. Aside from the excellent location of this hotel we were not at all impressed. The room was shabby, even though it had been redecorated. The service at the restaurant was poor and slow. They boast of a 50% discount off the dinner menu but when we were seated, we were told that only SELECTED items were 50% off unlike the other restaurants along Ocean Drive (which boast of the same promotion but applied the promotion to the entire dinner menu). I've been in many SoBe hotels but this one was excellent and right in the middle of South Beach. There are clean robes and flat screen TV in every room. However, do not expect luxury. All hotels by Ocean Dr and Collins are old, art deco style and that's their beauty. The style is more important here than anywhere else.... more

We did not go to the Colony with overly high expectations that it would be comparable to a 5 star luxury hotel, but we went to stay in a fun, authentic, real art deco hotel, right in the heart of what's HOT in South Beach, and it much more than delivered... the rooms were modern, and comfortable, with an atmosphere... more

I love the location and the hotel. The service was outstanding and on point. The front desk was very attentive. Fernando, which was the gentalmen at the front desk during my stay made sure i had everything i needed. I have stayed at the Colony more than once and will diffinately stay there again. more

Other than the location being right on Ocean Drive and in the heart of South Beach, the hotel is awful. The beds are a complete joke. We stayed in a double and the beds are practically on the floor.
