“Once again!”

Turks & Caicos Club

We just returned after a week at the T&C Club and must say I am longing to be back.
This was our second trip to this resort and it was even better than the first.
We have done Cuisineart, Cap Jaluca, La Sammanna, Ritz St Thomas, Caneel Bay, Ocen Club and several others. We know what it is like to stay in a nice place and I have to say T&C Club is just that.
All of them have pros and cons, nothing is perfect except hopefully the company you are vacationing with!
I love it here at the club and will be back.
Rebecca is great and her dogs are adorable. The staff is wonderful and yes, they could ask if you would like a poolside or beachside cocktail more often but the walk to get one isnt half bad. I wish I could take that walk right now as I sit in North Wimington, DE where it is 50 degrees!
Simba, it could be better the breakfast is good, lunch was ok, but dinner needs to be jazzed up a bit.
The restaurant could become more popular if it had more pizzaz.
The housecleaning was great- some of the best we have experienced. The girls do a great job.

Alvado and Sonia are charming as are Lunise and of course Samantha!
The T&C Club is worth is and why pay 500 hundred more a night for a soaking tub??? Is it really worth it?
Most of us who are paying these prices already have a soaking tub at home that we rarely use!
What is worth it is the washer dryer we came home with clean clothes...priceless!

If on the Island must Do's are:
Dinner at Magnolia, Belle Luna, Bay Bistro and Tiki Hut and for certain go to Smokeys on the Bay for Wednesday night Fish fry! If you want excellent Pizza go to Pizza Pizza in the Provo Plaza

Lunch at Seaside Cafe and Caicos Cafe was fantastic
at Caicos Cafe get the fish and chips!!!!
Seaside go for the chickensalad wrap!

Ok, here is the last place you must eat....and it does come with controversy. Da Conch Shack use to be called Bugaloos it is the best recipe for Conch around. Well Bugaloo basically got shafted and some business man cut him out of everything after he stole all his recipes. The Conch Shack is great- why wouldnt it be its all Bugaloos food, but without Bugaloo:(
I am compelled to recommend it still, because the food is so good but if you go mention how much you miss Bugaloo!
For gifts to take home- go to Mammas in Grace Bay
not the cheapest but Mamma is a gem!

If you can rent jet skis, and do the guided tour out of the Caicos Marina

Also, visit the IGA, it is great.

Lastly rent a car and explore!!!!!!!!!!!! But dont speed, we did get pulled over...twice, by the same cop.
It is safe and fun. If you can make it to Malcom Beach you are a great explorer and it is worth the ride (must have 4 wheel drive)
All in All We love you T&C!!!!

“The good and the bad....”

Turks & Caicos Club

I've been to the Turks & Caicos Club a few of times now, as a result I feel compelled to make few comments (good and bad).

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, with great rooms and an ideal location on the beach. It is reasonably priced for the Turks & Caicos and we love the full kitchen. Rebecca (the owner) and her daughters (who seem to visit frequently) are wonderful. They love animals and children.

The big problem....the restaurant and front office staff stink. I have slightly stronger language but I'm sure it would be edited out. After they're first meal, most guests learn pretty quickly that the restaurant is a place to avoid. The staff are reluctant, generally unhelpful and "moppy". I almost guarantee, if you stay at the hotel for a week, you will never be asked if you like a poolside drink. It shows, very few people frequent it more than once or twice. It is also too bad, because I have to believe the hotel experience could be improved dramatically (along with the bottom line).

One bright spot is the maid service. They do an excellent.

All this being said, my experience is more good than bad and I will definitely return the the T&C Club. They do fall short on service and it is probably a stretch they are on the Conde Nast recommended list. Hope is better next time.

We just returned from five nights at the Turks and Caicos Club. We found it to be elegant and gracious without being pretentious or stuffy. Our room was perfect although, due to the fact that the sun does not hit it, was dark at times. The decor was very well done and had all the amenities one would want.
The pool is in a lovely setting and provided protection for the one very windy day. The Sunset Sail was terrific. A gorgeous sunset, good company and a good supply of rum punch! Only problem was we got back too late to make our Coco Bistro reservations. But ordering food from Simba (excellent shrimp tempura) and relaxing and eating on our lovely veranda was even better.
We also ate at Coyoba and Magnolias which were terrific. The dinner at Annacaona was truly lackluster( service and food)and I would not return.
I would however return to the Turks and Caicos Club and would not trade the comfortable atmosphere for the toney and unnecessarily pretentious feel of some of the other resorts I scoped out.
Having stayed at Cap Jaluca on Anguilla I think this resort is comparable.

We stayed at Turks & Caicos Club and thought it was a nice place. From the Welcome lemon drink to the carrying of the luggage, the staff was incredibly nice, hard working and informative. The view was nice from our room- they aren't kidding when they say white sand beach and turquoise water- it really is something to see. In the room they provide fresh fruit, what a treat!! I have never tasted such wonderful bananas and grapefruit as I did on this vacation. The food here was a variety of different dishes and they were very tasty.Breakfast each morning was included and a nice way to start the day. The housekeeping was very good. Every time we returned to our room, it was spotless. The diving here was excellent (We booked the Dive into Luxury package and were not disappointed.) We did two boat dives a day. I did a total of 7 dives there- 4 dives are included in the package. Honestly we didn't see anything huge but who knows what you'll see on your trip there. The best thing for me was the flying gurnard. Our boat crew was great and our dive master, Fifi was the best. You guys made it great!! If you were looking to rest on the beach, there was Turks & Caicos Club staff had a chair waiting for you. I guess mostly what I would like to stress about this place is how romantic it felt to me. Though the place was full when we were there, it seemed very calm and you could always find a quiet spot to share with the one you love.

“Good but...won't repeat”

Turks & Caicos Club

My girlfriend and I lodged at the Turks & Caicos Club for a week in Feb'06. Our pedigree consists of the Cuisinart in Anguilla, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Elbow Beach Bermuda, the House & Sandy Lane in Barbados, Rivera Mayan, Ocean Club Bahamas, D.Republic, Canouan Island, Puerto Rico, Europe & various Ritz Carltons.
Now it wasn't bad, but not 5 star as we thought. The price that was paid, even though the whole island is expensive, is not worth the $ paid. The reason is that a 5* hotel/resort should have more to offer than this place. There are several conditions that make a hotel/resort a 5* and this place falls short. The service, amenities & facilities were not up to par.

The positives: the dinner at Simba, the daily full American breakfast, the free & timely airport transfers, the best beach along that stretch, the overall quiet nature of the place, & the friendly staff.

The grounds, while not expansive, are nice and very well kept. The beach however should be raked to get rid of seaweed that washes up onshore due to sea conditions. None of the resorts on that stretch of beach seem to tailor their beaches either although theres nothing wrong with being the lone dissenter.

The gym while not decrepit was also not indicitive of a 5* hotel. While not horrible, it had the feel of an exercise room found in many 3* hotels. Needs an upgrade.

The bathroom, while nice, is not of 5* quality. It was on the small side but in good condition. It was a nice touch to have a vanity sink with drawers & cabinets for storage. When you're staying for a week it helps improve the comfortability factor. While the tub/shower combo was in good condition you still need a seperate shower & tub to help elevate the room to 5* status.

The staff while nice, weren't of 5* quality either. It was extremely uncomfortable to have the whole place shut down after a certain time. Reception closes at 8pm. Unacceptable!! In case of emergency you are on your own. Ive never been to a hotel/resort that has no reception/desk person after a certain time. What, people dont need service, have questions etc, after 8pm? Very uncomfortable situation and i'm a grown man who can take care of himself. Once we ordered a drink from the bar and the attendant actually had the temerity to tell us that it was raining!? So what, service stops because of rain now? Also not a response you would expect from a 5* resort. The receptionist one day lied about doing something as simple as calling us our cab, and then scrambled to get him to the hotel to make our dinner reservation on time, which we did not. Then she placed blame on the poor guy which made it worse for me. How hard is it to call a cab, isn't that in her job description? The beach staff did not ask us daily if we wanted drinks, once in 6 days spent on the beach.

The restaurant Simba was good the one time we ate there. The complaints were three, first the unecessary surcharge after 6pm. Why does a $14 pizza at 2pm become a $20 pizza after 6pm? Does it cost 6 extra dollars to make? Secondly, there was no food available between 2:30 & 6pm. That alone forces you to patronize other resorts & restaurants, even if you just want to rest & relax between those hours. Thirdly, there is no 24hr room service, the restaurant shuts after dinner and you're stuck. Some sort of room service menu, 24hs or not also helps elevate a resort to 5* status.

The housekeeping & turndown service was excellent. No sooner than I put the service room sign on the door, housekeeping was in the room. Plenty of towels but a bit stingy on the shower gel. I don't care that it's Bvlgari, for almost $600 a night make sure I get some every day.

The last complaint was the Romantic Cruise which was the deciding factor in booking this place. A cruise with 30+ other people, plus kids! Not romantic, and I could've booked that excursion myself.

All of these service issues & we're paying a $50 service charge on top of the price & gov't tax? Sorry Rebecca, but with that extra surcharge tacked on to an already high room rate you need to be paying your workers a little bit more. Set a standard.
WHEN YOU'RE SPENDING $5000 OR MORE YOU SHOULD NOT BE UNHAPPY WITH YOUR HOTEL/RESORT, NOT IN THE LEAST BIT. WE CAN DEFINITELY SAY THAT WE WERE DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NOT BE BACK AT THE Turks & Caicos Club!!

p.s. For fun walk down the beach and see different resorts. You absolutely must go to BEACHES and observe their beach chairs. They are ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. I would'nt sit on them with two towels on them. Even the dark blue chairs were dirt stained. It's a disgrace and unsanitary on a bacterial level. Beach chairs should be soaped and/or steamed sometimes, theirs are never cleaned. Beware for your kids.
