Decided to give the Regent a try after several stays at The Orchard where the service is starting to slip.

Accommodation was in a Superior Room as I was only in Singapore for 1 night whilst in transit.

The entry foyer (and the hotel in general) is certainly impressive, although I'm at a loss to understand why there are so many hotel staff simply standing around. Perhaps they were on a break ?

In any case, check-in was straight forward and I was directed to the elevators with instructions on how to find my room.

The room was clean & presentable and sufficient for my requirements, but it is showing its age by virtue of the decor & fittings etc.

The bathroom was very small but large enough for 1 person.

Hotel location is very good at the 'top' end of Orchard Rd.

Overall, I was not disappointed in The Regent with a room tariff of SIN$290 ++ per night, but the hotel is not a 5 Star hotel.

If you make a booking with a 5 Star expectation, then I think you'll be a little disappointed.

Firstly, must say that the trip (shuttle bus approx $7 aus) from the airport to the city must be one of the best in the world - an abundance of lush greenery and pink bouganvillias nestled amonst the clean streets.
Then on through busy Orchard Road and then 5 mins away in more greenery was the beautiful Regent Hotel.
I think as I walked into the elegant foyer I actually mouthed "Wow!"
- just stunning as you can see. Then to the desk where the friendly, polite and welcoming team gave me my key etc. all without any delay.
My room was large and relaxing - great bathroom and terrific view from my huge floor to ceiling window.
Housecleaning staff also very friendly and polite.
The position of the hotel is just perfect - so quite and lush yet only 5-10 min walk to Orchard Road, which I did about 3 times a day (2 day stopover).
Congrats to The Regent and staff - look forward to my return!

The Hotel has a nice quiet location just off Orchard Road, which gives it a relaxed quality. Staff is friendly and helpful, although housekeeping staff could not speak any english.
Breakfast buffet was a joke, crammed into there tiny lounge. Omelet Chef was wiping pans with dirty cloth, very shocking.
There is no all day restaurant as there is refurbishment on going. Most disappointing of the stay was food quality.

But good value for money, hotel is a bit tired needs an uplift or facelift, cannot rely only on Four Seasons name to bring in customers....

We stayed at the Regent Hotel as part of the SIA Stopover Package.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff and service were excellent. The rooms were beautifully appointed (we stayed in an executive room for 1 night and then a superior room for 6 nights). The bathroom in the executive room was more spacious than the superior room but both rooms were modern and extremely comfortable.

Housekeeping were attentive and extremly efficient. We forgot to switch off the 'Do Not Disturb' sign one morning when we went out sightseeing. When we returned to the room, it had been cleaned and a note on our bed was left to say that after careful consideration and trying to contact us twice, the housekeeping department decided to freshen our room and hoped that we were not inconvenienced by this. They asked us to contact them if they had been intrusive in anyway and provide them with further instructions on maintaining the room during our stay.

Breakfast was lovely but a little expensive for Singapore standards. However, this is easily remedied by walking to Orchard Road or going to Tanglin Mall (situated behind the hotel).

We loved every minute of our stay at the Regent and will be definitely returning.
