Basically, I just drove into town and saw the hotel from the parking lot while scoping out the beach, walked in and was able to reserve one of the few remaining rooms for two nights.

Maria at the desk was very helpful and spoke English much better than I spoke Spanish so there were no communication issues. The room was very reasonable and offered a balcony overlooking the pool area and beyond (in the distance) the Mediterranean. The breakfast buffet (which was included with the reasonable price) was extensive.

The beach area was only a five minute walk with numerous restaurants along the way.

I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. Although, not directly on the beach it was convenient, clean, great service and I was very happy with my choice.

While the hotel is beautiful, be cautious. My daughter and her friends were sound asleep in their 2nd story suite when someone climbed in thru their balcony and stole two day-bags from beside their beds! The thieves netted several cameras, credit cards, cash, ID's (not passports, thankfully), and gifts. The hotel reception was very kind ONLY after the girls' chaperone went down; initially they couldn't be bothered. The policia were called, but accused the girls of lying about the burglary, despite physical evidence of the crime and an eyewitness (one kid woke up when the burglars were leaving).

We have just returned from Spain and spent a lovely week in this hotel. We read all the reviews before booking and were not disappointed when we got there.
We stayed in the suite on the 2nd floor, extra beds were provided for our 2 daughters. Plenty of room for us all, plus a good sized bathroom with corner bath. This room is at the front of the hotel, overlooking the road. The only downside was the noise at night time from scooters, people and dogs barking. Take your earplugs if you want to get some sleep!
The pool area is lovely, breakfast was great, plenty of choice. The hotel is spotlesslessly clean and all the staff are very helpful.
If you would like to stay here, book a room at the back of the hotel, overlooking the pool.

We have been to Nerja and the Nerja Princess hotel for the 7th time and we will be back in October again. Nerja Princess is the loveliest hotel I know in Spain. The staff is very friendly, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and nicely furnished and I love the little garden with the pool. The breakfast is very good with different sorts of bread and rolls, fruits, cereals, eggs and bacon and tomatoes, jams, yogourts, cheese and so on.
The hotel has only 20 rooms most of them with balcony or terrace. If one wants to have a nice stay in a lovely town in the south of spain I can truly recommend this hotel.
